Commissioner thanks fans, looks ahead to Playoffs

Dear Fans,

There is no suspense like NHL playoff suspense, no drama like NHL playoff overtime drama, no sacrifice in sports like NHL playoff sacrifice – and there is no trophy, anywhere, comparable to the Stanley Cup. So welcome to the excitement the next two months will provide as hockey's top competitors rise to an even-higher level in the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

We have the best sport, we have the best players, we have the best trophy and we have absolutely the best fans. Thank you all, so much, for supporting us in record numbers once again during the 2008-09 season. The season was absolutely fantastic and I believe the playoffs will be even better. I hope you enjoy every minute.
