NEW YORK -- Carolina Hurricanes President & General Manager Jim Rutherford will be the guest on Thursday's edition of NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman on SIRIUS XM Radio.

Rutherford is the only general manager the franchise has had since arriving in North Carolina prior to the 1997-98 season. In that span, the Hurricanes have made a pair of trips to the Stanley Cup Final (2002, 2006) and won the first Stanley Cup Championship in franchise history in 2006. The Hurricanes, enjoying a nine-game winning streak, have secured a place in the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman broadcasts live on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET on NHL Home Ice (XM Channel 204 and on SIRIUS Channel 208 as part of the "Best of XM" programming package) and NHL.com. The show will re-air on SIRIUS XM Radio, with archived shows available for download via podcast on NHL.com.

Quote of the Day

I'm sure [my father] was going crazy up there. I hope all of my friends were celebrating in the crowd. Coming back here and all of my friends and family are here, getting a goal in front of them is special.
