The Chicago Blackhawks will set an all-time single-season attendance record on Wednesday before the team hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7:30 P.M. The 8,547th fan that passes through the United Center's turnstile prior to the contest will mark the Blackhawks' 835,972 this season, surpassing the current record of 835,971 established during the 1995-96 season.
"This achievement is the best example of the recent cultural explosion surrounding the Blackhawks franchise," said Senior Vice President of Business Operations Jay Blunk. "Our fans have deep roots with the Blackhawks organization and we intend to reward their loyalty and passion. We stand in appreciation to all Blackhawks fans across the country."
The lucky fan will be available to meet the media in front of the Blackhawks locker room at 7:00 P.M., where they will be presented with a jersey signifying the history-making moment before performing the ceremonial puck drop.
