SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - The last Staal brother is headed for professional hockey.
Jared Staal signed an amateur tryout contract with the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage on Friday.
The 18-year-old had his OHL season end earlier this week when the Sudbury Wolves were knocked out of the first round of the playoffs.
He's already joined the Rampage and will spend the rest of the season with the team.
Staal had 52 points (19-33) in 67 regular-season games with Sudbury this season. He added one assist in three playoff games.
Staal was selected in the second round of last year's NHL draft by Phoenix. His three older brothers are all playing in the league - Eric (Carolina), Marc (N.Y. Rangers) and Jordan (Pittsburgh).
