CALGARY - Colin Long of the Kelowna Rockets was named Western Hockey League player of the week Monday.
Long picked up seven points (one goal and six assists) to go with a plus-six rating in three games over the past week, helping the Rockets post a 3-0-0-0 record in that span.
Long scored one goal and added three assists as the Rockets downed the Chiefs 4-1 on March 4th. Two days later, He recorded an assist in a 3-1 win over Chilliwack.
Long added a pair of helpers in Saturday's 3-2 win over Vancouver.
Long's seven points over the last three games has moved him into seventh among all WHL scorers with 84 points (31 goals, 53 assists) in 64 games.
Andrew Hayes of the Brandon Wheat Kings took home weekly goaltending honours. Hayes posted a 3-0-0-1 record this past week, with a 1.37 goals-against average and .952 save percentage.
