PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Flyers have added more toughness.

They've acquired Daniel Carcillo from the Phoenix Coyotes for Scottie Upshall and a second-round draft pick.

Carcillo had almost 100 more penalty minutes than anybody else in the NHL last season. In 54 games with the Coyotes this year, he has 10 points (3-7) and 174 penalty minutes.

The 24-year-old had spent his entire NHL career with the Coyotes.

Upshall will be joining his third team. He had 21 points (7-14) in 55 games with the Flyers this season.

Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
