OTTAWA - Andris Dzerins scored three goals and set up two more Sunday to lift the Kingston Frontenacs to an 8-6 victory over the Ottawa 67's.

All three of Dzerins' goals came in the third period, where the Frontenacs (11-32-6-3) rallied from a 5-4 deficit with less than eight minutes remaining.

His power-play goal with 2:01 left proved to be the winner. Dzerins added an empty-netter as Kingston stopped a two-game losing slide and won for just the second time in nine.

"A lot of games, we've got a lot of shots, but the goals weren't going in so it's nice to have a game like this," Frontenacs coach Doug Gilmour said. "All the work we've put into it is paying off."

Ethan Werek, George Lovatsis, Jaroslav Kruzik and Bobby Mignardi each added a goal and an assist while Stephen Francella also scored for Kingston. Nathan Moon added four assists and Mavric Parks made 32 saves.

Travis Gibbons scored twice and Logan Couture added a goal and three assists for the 67's (30-18-3-2), who lost for the second time in three days.

Anthony Nigro and Corey Cowick each had a goal and an assist and Thomas Kiriakou and Julien Demers recorded a pair of assists apiece.

Ottawa starting goaltender Adam Courchaine allowed six goals on 31 shots before making way for Chris Perugini, who made three of four stops the rest of the way.
