CALGARY - Calgary Hitmen forward Brandon Kozun was named Western Hockey League player of the month Monday.
The 18-year-old Calgary native led all WHL players with 19 points (7-12) last month.
Also Monday, forward Joel Broda of the Moose Jaw Warriors was named WHL player of the week.
He had 11 points (9-2) in four games last week.
The WHL also nominated Martin Jones of the Calgary Hitmen for the Canadian Hockey League goaltender of the week award.
He posted a 3-0-0-0 record last week with two shutouts.
