KITCHENER, Ont. - Corey Cowick's eventual game-winner sparked a run of three goals in less than five minutes as the Ottawa 67's broke open a tight game to down the Kitchener Rangers 5-1 and win their sixth straight on Friday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

Cowick scored his 23rd of the season shorthanded 13 minutes, 31 seconds into the second period to put Ottawa up 2-1. Anthony Nigro and Ryan Martindale followed with goals of their own to stretch the lead to three goals before Jon Carnevale topped off the scoring in the third.

Cody Lindsay also scored for the 67's (21-14-0-2), who haven't lost since the Kingston Frontenacs upset them 7-3 on Dec. 7.

Dan Kelly had the lone goal for Kitchener (16-19-1-1), which has lost seven of its last 10 and currently sits ninth in the 10-team Western Conference.

Adam Courchaine made 42 saves for Ottawa, while Rangers netminder Parker Van Buskirk stopped 27 shots.
