Snow looks possible for Classic

Snow played a prominent role in last season's Winter Classic -- who could forget the flakes falling at Ralph Wilson Stadium as Pittsburgh and Buffalo skated into a shootout won by Sidney Crosby -- and the weather forecast says we could be treated to more on Thursday.

Weather.com predicts snow showers are possible when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field in this season's Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic. Temperatures on the day of the highly-anticipated game are expected to range between 26 and 32 degrees, with a 30-percent chance of precipitation.

After Monday's expected high of 42 degrees, temperatures are expected to fall throughout the week. Snow showers are forecast for late Tuesday, with a high of 39 degrees and a low of 21, while a cold front moves in Wednesday. Skies should be mostly cloudy, with the high getting up to only 24 and the low expected to be 16.

How about those famous Wrigley winds? WMAQ-TV in Chicago, which also predicts a 30-percent chance of precipitation the day of the game, reports that the winds are expected to be moving south at 12 miles per hour on Thursday.
