OSHAWA, Ont. - Corey Cowick scored the only goal in the shootout as the Ottawa 67's defeated the Oshawa Generals 4-3 Sunday afternoon in the Ontario Hockey League.

Cowick, who was traded from Oshawa to Ottawa in the off-season and has a team-high 17 goals, beat Generals netminder Neil Conway with a backhand deke in the second round while Michael Del Zotto, John Tavares and Kory Nagy all failed to score for Oshawa.

Logan Couture scored twice in the second period for the 67's (13-11-0-2), with one of those goals coming on the power play. Ryan Martindale scored the other Ottawa goal, also with a man advantage, while defenceman Julien Demers had two assists.

Nagy and Brett Parnham scored short-handed goals for the Generals (11-11-0-3), and also had an assist each. James DeLory scored the other for Oshawa, the only goal of the first period.

Ottawa goalie Chris Perugini made 30 saves prior to the shootout. Conway, making his seventh straight start for the Generals, made 33 saves.
