REGINA - Brandon Kozun scored two goals to help the Calgary Hitmen knock off the Regina Pats 6-2 in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.

The win is the sixth straight for Calgary (19-4-1-0) and gives the Hitmen a comfortable perch atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Regina (13-7-1-3) opened the scoring just over four minutes in when Victor Bartley intercepted a clearing attempt and rifled a wrist shot top corner behind Calgary goalie Michael Snider.

Kozun, who has points in 12 of his last 13 games and will play for Team WHL in the upcoming 2008 ADT Canada Russia Challenge, got the goal back two minutes later on the power play when he banged in a rebound off a Paul Postma point shot.

At the 17:27 mark of the period the Pats added a power play goal of their own when Michael MacAngus converted a pretty goal mouth feed from Jordan Eberle to head to the dressing room with a 2-1 lead.

Near the midway mark of the second Calgary's Jason MacDonald evened things up with a bouncer from the blue-line that fooled Regina goalie Linden Rowat.

Tied 2-2 after two despite dominating Regina in all aspects of the game, the Hitmen polished off the Pats in the third with four unanswered goals. Carson McMillan, Kozun, Brendan Rowinski, and Alex Plante scored during that stretch.

Snider (3-0-0-0) was required to make just 18 saves for the win. Rowat (7-1-1-1), who faced a whopping 47 shots while allowing six goals, suffered his first regulation loss of the season.
