Brassard recorded points in eight of 10 games and posted an even or plus rating in nine contests, including a third-period goal and +2 rating in the season opener, a 5-4 overtime victory at Dallas Oct. 10. He tallied his first multiple-point game (one goal, one assist) in a 4-2 victory at Colorado Oct. 30.
The 6-1, 190-lb. Hull, Quebec native was sixth player chosen in the 2006 Entry Draft after he posted a 116-point season with QMJHL Drummondville and earned the Michael Bossy Trophy as the league's top pro prospect. Brassard missed most of 2006-07 recovering from a shoulder injury and played his first pro season in 2007-08, recording 51 points (15 goals, 36 assists) at AHL Syracuse, plus 1-1--2 totals in his 17-game NHL debut with Columbus.
