There are 7 games on the NHL docket Tuesday, highlighted by a TSN doubleheader. The Maple Leafs host the Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Predators at the Canucks at 10 p.m. ET.

In addition, the New York Islanders renew their rivalry with the New York Rangers, the Washington Capitals face the Ottawa Senators (7:30 p.m. ET, RDS), and the Phoenix Coyotes travel to Calgary to take on the Flames.

Later, the Anaheim Ducks visit the Los Angeles Kings and two division leaders square off when the Minnesota Wild visit the San Jose Sharks.

* The Islanders, who are in last place in the Eastern Conference with just 7 points in 11 games, have blown 3-goal leads in their last 2 games. The Islanders, who have allowed 40 goals, the second-most in the division, have just 1 road victory this season.

* Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who is tied for the League lead with 8 wins, has given up 3 or more goals in just 2 of 11 games he has played this season. Lundqvist, who has faced more than 35 shots just once this season, leads the Atlantic Division with a .928 save percentage.

* Carolina defenseman Tim Gleason, who has 5 assists in 11 games this season, is on pace to nearly double his previous career high of 19. Gleason, who was part of the package the Kings sent to Hurricanes for Jack Johnson in 2006, leads Southeast Division players with 34 hits. 

* Maple Leafs left wing Alexei Ponikarovsky, who plays on a line with Matt Stajan and Nik Antropov, has a minus-3 rating in his last 3 games. Ponikarovsky, who had 35 points in 66 games last season, has 9 points in 12 games this season.

* Washington left wing Alexander Ovechkin, who missed the last 2 games to be with his sick grandfather in Russia, has 10 goals and 19 points in 12 career games against the Senators. Ovechkin, who has just 2 goals in 8 games this season, is second on the team with 41 shots.
