Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby left Thursday's game against Phoenix with an undisclosed injury.

Crosby played only two shifts in the third period of the Penguins' 4-1 loss to the Coyotes before leaving the ice. He did not return.

What happened to Crosby is unclear. Television replays showed Crosby skate to the Penguins bench, sit down with a grimace and try to collect himself.

Per team policy, the Penguins did not disclose details of Crosby's injury. Neither did Crosby.

"I don't even know what happened," he said after the game. "I had some discomfort. In the third period, I couldn't really do much."

Crosby finished with one shot on goal and was a minus-1 in 15:56 of ice time.

The Penguins listed him as day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. Pittsburgh's next game is at St. Louis on Saturday.
Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
