Thorne lifts Battalion to 5-4 victory over Barrie Colts

BARRIE, Ont. - Stephon Thorne scored two goals, including the game-winner in the second period as the Brampton Battalion defeated the Barrie Colts 5-4 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Thorne, Evgeny Grachev and Matt Duchene put the Battalion up 3-0 in the first period, before Darren Archibald, Colin Behenna and Alex Hutchings tied it up for Barrie.

Thorne gave Brampton (4-6-0-0) a 4-3 lead in the second and Scott Tanski added a insurance goal just over six minutes later.

Stefan Della Rovere cut the deficit to 5-4 at 7:50 of the third for the Colts (5-3-1-0).

Brandon Foote took the win with 37 saves on 41 shots, while Michael Hutchinson stopped 40-of-45 shots for Barrie.
