Q.  Mikael, can you talk about the time with the Penguins -- it wasn't long, but then coming back scoring the two goals against them, and the trade, that allows you an extra thing tonight?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  I don't know what to say about that.  It was a couple of years ago.  I don't think much about it now.  I'm happy to be in Detroit.  I'll go from there, and play the best I can right now.

Q.  Can you describe your two goals for us tonight, how they came out and how good it feels to have scored twice in the Cup Final?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  The feeling, it was great for sure.  I love to score goals, obviously.  But, yeah, they turned over the puck at the red line, and I saw   the first one, they were out there, like, 30, 40 seconds.  I just took a shot at it.  They went to the net.  I couldn't really cut in in front of the net, so I had to go behind.  And I guess the goalie or Fleury committed to me a little bit.  So I took a chance to throw it at the net, and it went in.

Q.  The second one?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  The second one, I don't really know what happened.  I went through the forecheck and the puck kind of stayed at me.  There were a couple guys there.  But they didn't really catch or took the puck there, so I just took it and shot it to the net.

Q.  A lot of the talk this week has been how the small mistakes, turnovers, might end up being the difference.  Both your goals result in turnovers.  Can you talk about the importance of you guys capitalizing on those small mistakes like that?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  You're right, two good teams out there.  It's going to be small mistakes who probably wins the game, such as you say.  Everybody knows that, I should say. I don't really know what to say.  That's the way it is in every game.

Q.  Chris, almost two different games tonight, first period kind of back and forth and you guys pretty much shut them down the rest of the way.  Was it something that Coach said during the first intermission or what adjustments did you make?

CHRIS OSGOOD:  Stay out of the penalty box, for starters.  We were in there way too much in the first period.  After that, I thought we didn't turn pucks over as much as we did in the first.  That's why we got the penalties.  We got pucks deep when we grind their "D."  Sometimes things don't happen right away.  You don't reap the rewards until later.  That's what happened.

I thought we were tough on their "D" in the last two periods of the game.  Made them skate back for a lot of pucks.  And defense was difficult when guys are hitting you nonstop for 40 straight minutes and that's what we accomplished.  That's why we ended up getting the goals that we did.

Q.  Before tonight, Mikael, what would you consider to be the highlight of your career?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  The highlight of my career was the Olympics 2006, and also last year we had a good round at it.  And that was a lot of fun, too.

Q.  Any one game in particular you remember?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  I don't know really.  I scored twice in the San Jose last year.  That was a lot of fun.

Q.  Is [Tomas] Holmstrom a marked man out there now?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  What do you mean by a "marked man"?

Q.  Any time he goes anywhere near the crease, inside the blue or not.

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  He gets a penalty?

Q.  Yeah.

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  I don't know.  Gotta ask the referees that.  Seems like it right now.  I don't know.  I haven't looked at the video, if it was a goal or not.  If it was outside, yeah, I don't know right now. But hopefully it goes in next time or counts as a goal next time.

Q.  Twenty years from now, Mikael, what are you going to tell people about tonight?

MIKAEL SAMUELSSON:  (Smiling) Call me in 20 years.  I don't know.  Just live in the moment.  I think we played good as a team tonight.  I'm lucky to be the one who scored a couple of goals.

Q.  Chris, did you expect Pittsburgh to come out even harder, especially early in Game 2?

CHRIS OSGOOD:  They played a pretty good game.  Two good teams.  They came out real hard in the first, threw a lot of pucks, had some good chances.  We did a good job killing off the penalties.  That was huge for us.  Kept us in the game.  We regrouped after the first.  I think they came at us   we expected what we got tonight.  They've got a quick team and talented.  Their "D" moves the puck good.  I thought Fleury played well.  Of course we got some goals, but that's going to happen.

And I mean they're everything we expected.  I mean, they made some beautiful plays, some nice plays, coming out not only in front of me, but coming out of their zone.  So we've got to be on top of our game.  We had to play very, very well in the last two periods and give it everything we've got tonight just to win that game.
