BOSTON (AP) -Boston Bruins left wing Marco Sturm agreed to a multiyear contract extension Saturday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sturm has 20 goals and 11 assists this season. In 2005, the Bruins traded star center Joe Thornton to San Jose for Sturm, Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau.

The 28-year-old Sturm, from Dingolfing, Germany, had his best season in 2005-06 when he had 29 goals and 30 assists.

Also Saturday, the Bruins claimed goalie Joey MacDonald off waivers from Detroit, and placed right wing Glen Murray on injured reserve to make room on the roster.
