VANCOUVER, B.C. - Daniel and Henrik Sedin are donating $1.5 million to help build a new children's hospital in Vancouver.

The Swedish twins, who were drafted by the Canucks and have lived in Vancouver for 10 years, said their donation will be used to help build the intensive care unit and diagnostics and imaging area at the new BC Children's Hospital.

"Henrik and I along with our families feel very fortunate to live and work in this great city and province," Daniel Sedin said in a statement.

"We are committed to giving back to the community we live in and wanted to do something that would benefit children and families across the province."

The brothers make annual visits to the existing BC Children's Hospital.
