General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with left-winger J.F. Jacques on a one-year deal.
Jacques, 25, played in 49 games last year with the Oilers collecting 11 points (4G, 7A) and 78 penalty minutes.
The 6'4", 217lbs Montreal, Quebec native was regularly in the top 10 in the league with hits before a back injury ended his season early.
Jacques, who was drafted in the 3rd round, 68th overall by the Oilers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, has appeared in 109 NHL games scoring five goals, seven assists for 12 points and 122 PIM.
He played his junior with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the QMJHL where he played 261 games with 78 goals and 101 assists for 179 points with 385 penalty minutes.
