COLUMBUS, Ohio - The NHL suspended Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jared Boll for one game Friday because of an instigator penalty in the final minutes of the win against Colorado.

Boll will miss Saturday's home game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus general manager Scott Howson said.

The Blue Jackets earned a rare 4-2 victory at Colorado on Thursday night. An instigator penalty that late in the game carries an automatic one-game suspension.

Boll was activated from injured reserve Tuesday after missing five games with a possible concussion. As a rookie last season, he had five goals, five assists and a team-high 226 penalty minutes in 75 games.
