Eberle leads Oilers past Canucks 4-1

Thursday, 09.19.2013 / 1:02 AM

Jordan Eberle had a goal and two assists and Devan Dubnyk made 25 saves to lead Edmonton past Vancouver at Rogers Arena.

"In preseason, the biggest thing you can do is get some confidence for the regular season," Eberle said. "The puck was going in tonight."

Martin Maricin contributed a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who also received two assists apiece from Boyd Gordon and Brad Hunt. Jesse Joensuu and David Perron also scored for Edmonton, which scored all of its goals in the first 12:24 of the game against Roberto Luongo.

"We came out flying at the start and didn't give them a chance to come back," Dubnyk said. "That's what we have to do every game."

Brendan Gaunce had the lone goal for Vancouver, which came 42 seconds after Joensuu gave the Oilers a 4-0 lead.
