BLUE JACKETS (4-9-2) at DUCKS (11-2-1)
TV: FS-O, PRIME
Last 10: Columbus 3-6-1; Anaheim 8-1-1.
Season series: This is the first of three meetings.
Big story: Anaheim enters Monday’s action riding a four-game win streak. With 23 points, the Ducks trail only the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League standings.
Blue Jackets: The woes continued for Columbus on Saturday night, when it suffered a 5-3 loss against the Phoenix Coyotes in the second of the Blue Jackets’ six game road trip. Columbus opened the trip with a 2-1 loss at Los Angeles on Friday night.
Columbus has lost five of its last six contests.
"We ran out of gas and it doesn't help when you have to kill seven times," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. "Missing [Artem Anisimov and James Wisniewski] and with Dubie (Brandon Dubinsky) not coming back … those are tough shoes to fill."
Ducks: Anaheim recorded its second four-game win streak this month with Saturday night’s 3-2 shootout win against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Everyone is contributing for the Ducks this season – rookie winger Patrick Maroon became the 13th player on the roster to score Saturday night.
"The one thing that our group has been able to do so far is keep their cool and play the way they are supposed to and just keep going and eventually something goes in," coach Bruce Boudreau told the Associated Press.
Who’s hot: Ducks goaltender Viktor Fasth is now 8-0-0 with a 1.78 goals-against average and .933 save percentage. With Saturday’s win, he became the third goaltender in League history to win his first eight career decisions, joining Ray Emery (Ottawa) and Bob Froese (Philadelphia).
Injury report: Dubinsky suffered a lower-body injury in the second period of Saturday night’s loss after a collision in the corner with Phoenix's Chris Summers. Dubinsky did not return and is questionable for Monday. The club is also likely to be without Anisimov (lower body) and Wisniewski (personal reasons). Cam Atkinson (lower body) is also day-to-day. … Ducks defensemen Cam Fowler (upper body) and Hampus Lindholm (concussion) are on injured reserve.
