Flyers look to complete series sweep of Penguins

Big Story: Can the Flyers complete the sweep? Or can the Penguins keep the series alive?

Penguins: Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has allowed 17 of the 20 goals the Philadelphia Flyers have scored in the first three games of the postseason, but Penguins coach Dan Bylsma went out of his way Tuesday to say the blame doesn't fall solely on the goaltender.

"I think if you go throughout our room, you are going to have every player feel like they're responsible and haven't been at their best," Bylsma said. "Whether it's situational, making a mistake that's caused a goal or a game or whether it was overall play, I don't think you are going to find one person that thinks otherwise. That's everybody included."

Fleury's pride, though, still has been wounded, and he's looking to make amends, starting in Game 4 on Wednesday.

"It's frustrating because in the playoffs you want to do well, win those games," Fleury said. "It's tough. We have to put everything together, make sure we're ready for [Wednesday]."

Flyers: They certainly didn't back down from any of the extracurricular activity in Game 3, but the players believe their discipline was a big reason they won the game, and are up 3-0 in the series.

"After whistles you're used to seeing the Flyers start trouble," Danny Briere said, "and for the most part we're staying away from it unless we have to protect our goalie, or protect each other from guys trying to take advantage of us."

It's an unpredictable turn for a team that was the most penalized in the League in the regular season.

"Perception doesn't really play into it for us," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said. "This is a new group. This is our group and our objective is to try and stay disciplined. I think we've done a good job."

Who's Hot: Penguins center Jordan Staal has points in five straight games going back to the regular season, with multi-point games in three of them. … Flyers center Claude Giroux leads all players in goals (four), assists (four), points (eight) and plus/minus (plus-5).

Injury Report: Penguins defenseman Paul Martin sat out practice Tuesday and is questionable for Thursday's game. … The Penguins will be without forwards James Neal, Arron Asham and Craig Adams due to suspension.

Stat Pack: The Flyers have led a series 3-0 nine times in their history, but they're just 3-6 in Game 4's when in that position.

Puck Drop: The Flyers players didn't have much to say in regard to Tuesday's decisions by the NHL Department of Player Safety to suspend Penguins forwards Arron Asham for four games and James Neal for one game for their conduct in Game 3.

"It is what it is," Danny Briere said. "I can't change anything about that. Peter [Laviolette, coach] told us that suspension or not, it would be irrelevant to the game and I truly believe that. These guys have their backs to the walls so I expect them to play with a lot of desperation."
