Matt Taormina scores in overtime, Syracuse slips past St. John's 2-1

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Matt Taormina scored 3:03 into overtime as the Syracuse Crunch edged the host St. John's IceCaps 2-1 on Saturday in American Hockey League action

Jeff Tambellini also scored for the Crunch (8-5-2), who got a 29-save outing from Kristers Gudlevskis.

Gabriel Dumont found the back of the net for the IceCaps (9-5-4), who beat Syracuse 4-3 in overtime on Friday.

Zachary Fucale kicked out 32-of-34 shots in a losing cause.

Both clubs went 0 for 2 on the power play.
