Rogers Hometown Hockey: Corner Brook, Nfld.

NHL Network and Sportsnet 1 will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, prior to the game between the New York Islanders at Montreal Canadiens. The location this week is Corner Brook, Newfoundland and the show will celebrate the history of hockey in the city.

Among the features airing on the pregame show:

* The Corner Brook Royals are a senior hockey team coached by former NHL player Darren Langdon, a Newfoundland native. His life after the NHL and the importance of the Royals to him are discussed. Former NHL player Arron Asham, 37, now plays for Corner Brook and explains why he chose to do so instead of retiring.

*Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban and Islanders forward John Tavares are rivals in the NHL after befriending each other during their peewee days, in which they were also on rival teams.

* Nathan Howell, a child from Corner Brook, was born with a club foot and as a result, has a hard time playing hockey. Normal skates don't fit him, so First Shift flew him to Montreal where he was fitted for a custom skate, making it easier to play his favorite sport.

* A look at Gros Morne National Park, located on the west coast of Newfoundland. It's the second-largest national park in Atlantic Canada.
