OHL Roundup: Harper has four-point night as Bulldogs edge Generals

HAMILTON - Stephen Harper was all over the ice on Saturday night.

He contributed on all of Hamilton's goals, scoring twice and adding two assists, as the Bulldogs edged the Oshawa Generals 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action.

Trent Fox and Christian Mieritz rounded out the attack for Hamilton (1-1-0). Charlie Graham turned away 29 shots for the win in goal.

Lukas Lofquist had two goals and an assist for the Generals (1-1-0) with Anthony Cirelli adding the other. Jeremy Brodeur kicked out 32 shots in net.

The Bulldogs scored once on five power plays while Oshawa converted twice on seven opportunities.

FRONTENACS 6 KNIGHTS 5 (SO)

LONDON, Ont. — Juho Lammikko had the shootout winner and scored in regulation as Kingston slipped past the Knights.

Jared Steege struck twice for the Frontenacs (1-0-1) while Ryan Cranford and Spencer Watson also chipped in.

Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and two assists for London (1-0-1). Olli Juolevi, Owen MacDonald, Kole Sherwood and JJ Piccinich supplied the rest of the offence.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Tim Gettinger struck twice as the Greyhounds downed Niagara.

Boris Katchouk had the other for Sault Ste. Marie (1-0-1) on the power play.

Anthony DiFruscia opened the scoring for the IceDogs (1-1-0) in the second period.

Niagara's Matt Gillard received a major penalty and game misconduct for cross checking at 13:06 of the third period. Teammate Zach Wilkie was assessed a match penalty for slew footing at 15:24 of the second period.

FLINT, Mich. — Matyas Kantner scored the shootout winner as the Firebirds won their inaugural home opener over Saginaw.

Mathieu Henderson and Connor Chatham had the others for Flint (2-0-0).

Mitchell Stephens and Matthew Kreis found the back of the net for the Spirit (0-1-1).
