Jagr named to Czech Republic roster for 2015 Worlds

Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr is part of the Czech Republic roster for the 2015 IIHF World Championship set to take place in Prague and Ostrava beginning May 1, according to a release on the IIHF website.

Jagr, who earlier this month signed a one-year contract with the Panthers for the 2015-16 season, had 17 goals and 47 points in 77 games for the New Jersey Devils and Panthers in his 21st NHL season.

He is joined on the roster by Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek, Winnipeg Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec, San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl, Arizona Coyotes forward Martin Erat and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jan Hejda.

The Czech Republic will be part of Group A along with Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia, France, Germany and Austria, and opens the tournament against Sweden on May 1.
