The New York Islanders have agreed to terms with defenseman Kyle Burroughs on a three-year, entry-level contract that will take effect in the 2015-16 season.

Burroughs, 19, recorded 39 points in 66 games during his fourth full Western Hockey League season, split between the Regina Pats and Medicine Hat Tigers. The Langley, B.C., native had two assists in a five-game, opening round playoff series for Medicine Hat, helping the team advance to its current second-round series against the Calgary Hitmen.
