Detroit Red Wings call up RW Landon Ferraro from AHL in the midst of playoff chase

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings recalled right wing Landon Ferraro on Monday from Grand Rapids of the AHL.

The 23-year-old Ferraro has 27 goals and 15 assists in 70 games with the Griffins this season. He played four games for the Red Wings last season.

Detroit drafted Ferraro in the second round in 2009.

The Red Wings are trying to hold onto a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, with Ottawa only two points behind. Detroit hosts Carolina on Tuesday night.
