MANCHESTER, N.H. - Evan Rodrigues scored with 2:24 left in the third period and Boston University held on to beat Minnesota-Duluth 3-2 on Saturday in the NCAA hockey tournament's Northeast Regional championship, sending the Terriers home with a berth in the Frozen Four.

Rodrigues had two goals and Matt Lane also scored for top-seeded BU (27-7-5), which is headed back to the Frozen Four for the first time since winning its fifth NCAA title in 2009. The Terriers won't have for to go for their semifinal game April 9, just a few miles from campus at Boston's TD Garden.

Willie Raskob and Kyle Osterberg scored for the No. 2 seed Bulldogs (21-16-3).

Duluth pulled its goalie for the final 1:40 but the extra skater was no help against Matt O'Connor, who finished with 27 saves and was swarmed by his teammates after the buzzer.

WEST REGIONAL

NORTH DAKOTA 4, ST. CLOUD STATE 1

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Drake Caggiula scored his team-leading 18th goal of the season, Zane McIntyre stopped a handful of point-blank shots and North Dakota beat St. Cloud State in the regional final to advance to the Frozen Four.

North Dakota advance to the Frozen Four for the seventh time in Dave Hakstol's 11 years as coach. Hakstol is 7-2 in regional championships.

Caggiula scored the winner at 6:49 of the second period when his shot was stopped by goalie Charlie Lindgren and ricocheted in off a St. Cloud defenceman.

Andrew Panzarella, Luke Johnson and Colten St. Clair also scored for North Dakota (29-9-3). Jimmy Murray scored for St. Cloud (20-19-1).

McIntyre finished with 19 saves.

North Dakota won the last of its seven NCAA titles in 2000.

MIDWEST REGIONAL

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Josh Mitchell broke a tie in the third period and Rochester Institute of Technology beat top-seeded Minnesota State-Mankato in the regional semifinals.

RIT (20-14-5) became the first No. 16 overall seed to beat the No. 1 overall seed.

The Tigers will face Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday for a spot in the Frozen Four.

Jordan Ruby made 33 saves for RIT.

RIT's Alexander Kuqali opened the scoring early in the first period.

Mankato (29-8-3) tied it on Franklin Minnst's goal midway through the second.

NEBRASKA-OMAHA 4, HARVARD 1

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Ryan Massa made 33 saves in Nebraska-Omaha's victory over Harvard.

Grant Gallo and Avery Peterson scored first-period goals for the Mavericks (19-12-6)

Jimmy Vesey scored for Harvard (21-13-3) early in the third, his national-best 32nd of the season.

Tyler Vesel and Jake Guentzel had empty-net goals in the final minute.

EAST REGIONAL

DENVER 5, BOSTON COLLEGE 2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Grant Arnold scored twice and Trevor Moore had a goal and an assist to help Denver beat Boston College in the regional semifinals.

Denver (24-13-2) will play the Providence on Sunday for a berth in the Frozen Four.

Joey LaLeggia and Will Butcher also scored for the Pioneers.

Mike Matheson and Ryan Fitzgerald scored for Boston College (21-14-3).

PROVIDENCE 7, MIAMI OF OHIO 5

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Shane Luke scored two goals and Providence held off top-seeded Miami of Ohio.

Providence (22-13-3) took a 6-2 lead with four straight goals in the second period, with Luke, Steven McParland, Brian Pinho and Noel Acciari connecting for the Friars.

The Friars needed that outburst because Miami's Matt Caito, Devin Loe and Sean Kuraly scored in the third with goalie Ryan McKay on the bench in favour of an extra skater.

Trevor Mingoia and Brandon Tanev also scored for Providence.

Cody Murphy and Anthony Louis added goals for Miami (25-14-3).
