STARS OUTLAST FLAMES TO EXTEND WINNING STREAK

The Dallas Stars surrendered leads of 2-0 and 3-2, but Tyler Seguin scored the lone goal in the shootout to lift the club to its fourth straight win overall and a 5-0-1 mark in their last six meetings with the Calgary Flames dating to March 18, 2013.

* The Stars (36-28-10, 82 points) moved within six points of the idle Winnipeg Jets (38-24-12, 88 points) for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Dallas owns the ROW tiebreaker (DAL: 32, WPG: 31), but Winnipeg won the season series (WPG: 3-1-0, DAL: 1-3-0).

* Kari Lehtonen made 31 saves and denied all three shootout attempts to pick up his eighth win in his past nine games against the Flames, including five straight victories. Overall, he has a 10-3-2 record in 15 career appearances vs. Calgary (2.61 GAA, .912 SV%).

* Lehtonen also won his ninth consecutive road decision dating to Jan. 29 at the Ottawa Senators. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the third goaltender to accomplish that feat this season, following Carey Price (10-0-0; Dec. 23-Feb. 26) of the Montreal Canadiens and Devan Dubnyk (10-0-0; Feb. 18-present) of the Minnesota Wild.

* Elias also says Lehtonen is the first goaltender in franchise history to win nine consecutive road decisions, besting the previous mark of eight set by Johan Hedberg from March 6, 2004 to Feb. 9, 2006.

* Seguin had his sixth career game-deciding goal and improved to 3-for-4 in tiebreakers this season. He also had two assists in regulation to register his 20th multiple-point game in 2014-15; he ranks second on the Stars and is tied for 10th in the NHL with 33-34—67.

* Jamie Benn potted his 27th goal of the season, the second most he has scored in one campaign (34 in 2013-14). He ranks sixth in the NHL with 27-44—71, three points back of the League-leaders.

* Ales Hemsky (2-0—2) posted his first multigoal game since March 4, 2014 vs. Ottawa (while with the Edmonton Oilers). He has 13-30—43 in 62 career games against the Flames, including 7-14—21 in 31 career visits to Scotiabank Saddledome. Per Elias, those are his highest point totals against any opponent and in any opposing arena.

* Jason Spezza hit the 40-assist milestone for the second straight season (43 in 2013-14) and for the seventh time in his career..

FLYERS CONTINUE HOME DOMINANCE OF BLACKHAWKS

The Philadelphia Flyers built a 3-0 lead through two periods and Steve Mason made 34 saves to help snap a four-game slide (0-2-2) and earn their 11th consecutive regular-season home win against the Chicago Blackhawks dating to March 31, 1998.

* Philadelphia improved to 40-16-11 in regular-season home games against Chicago. The Flyers (30-29-16, 76 points) also kept their playoff hopes alive by moving within nine points of the idle Senators (37-24-11, 85 points) for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

* Mason earned up his 15th win of the season to snap a personal two-game slide. It also was his first victory against the Blackhawks since Feb. 18, 2011 (while with the Columbus Blue Jackets), halting a 0-7-1 stretch against Chicago.

* Ryan White found the back of the net for the second straight game (also Saturday at Edmonton), marking the third time he accomplished the feat (last: Feb. 19 vs. the Buffalo Sabres and Feb. 21 vs. the Nashville Predators). It also counted as his second career game-winning goal (Feb. 8, 2014 at the Carolina Hurricanes while with Montreal).

* Wayne Simmonds scored his team-leading 28th goal of the season to move within one of his career high, set in 2013-14. The goal was his 100th in a Flyers uniform; he has 2-4—6 in his last six games.

* Claude Giroux hit the back of the net for the third straight game. He has 4-3—7 in his past six games and is tied for eighth in the NHL with 68 points (22-46—68).

* Jakub Voracek (21-53—74) had one assist to move into a tie with John Tavares (34-40—74) and Sidney Crosby (24-50—74) for the League points lead. His 53 assists are second to Nicklas Backstrom (54).

ROY HELPS OILERS SURVIVE AVALANCHE

Derek Roy scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-1-2 mark in their past six games and to their first win against the Colorado Avalanche since Dec. 5, 2013.

* The Oilers built a 3-0 lead in a span of 5:03 in the first period, but yielded three straight Avalanche goals over the next two periods. Elias says the Oilers won in regulation after surrendering a three-goal lead for the first time since March 22, 2008, also vs. Colorado (3-0 lead, 7-5 W).

* Martin Marincin opened the scoring with his first NHL goal. Andrew Miller (0-2—2) notched his first career assist/point on the play. Elias says the last time Oilers teammates each registered their first NHL goal and assist on the same play was Oct. 1, 2013, when Luke Gazdic scored and Will Acton notched the lone assist.

* The Oilers' training staff cut the puck in half and presented the pieces to Marincin and Miller. "That's the first time I've ever seen that, I've never gotten half a puck before, but I'll take it," Miller said.

* Jordan Eberle scored his 21st goal of the season to boost his career totals vs. Colorado to 10-11—21 in 22 GP. He leads the Oilers with 59 points, including 6-9—15 in nine games in March; Elias says only Calgary’s Jiri Hudler (8-10—18) and teammate Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (7-9—16) have more points this month.

* Roy scored his 35th career game-winning goal and second this season (Jan. 4 vs. the New York Islanders). Taylor Hall scored his first goal since Jan. 9 vs. Chicago; he has 2-8—10 in his last 12 games. Anton Lander and Benoit Pouliot each had two assists; Pouliot has 3-5—8 in his past seven outings.
