Blackhawks' Nordstrom faces Player Safety hearing

Chicago Blackhawks forward Joakim Nordstrom will have a hearing Friday with the NHL Department for Player Safety for boarding Arizona Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson during a game at Gila River Arena on Thursday.

Ekman-Larsson was hit by Nordstrom at 19:22 of the third period in Chicago's 2-1 win. Nordstrom received a two-minute minor for boarding.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
