The Boston Bruins acquired forwards Maxime Talbot and Paul Carey from the Colorado Avalanche on Friday for forward Jordan Caron and a sixth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Talbot, whose two goals in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final helped the Pittsburgh Penguins win a championship in 2009, has five goals and 15 points in 63 games this season.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli called Talbot a glue guy when addressing the media.

"I talked to Max earlier about coming here, he's excited," Chiarelli said in comments tweeted by the team. "We believe he's a good add to our forward group."

Carey has one assist in 10 games for the Avalanche this season.

Caron, the 25th pick in the 2009 NHL Draft, was scoreless in 11 games with the Bruins this season. He had 12 goals and 28 points in 134 games over parts of five seasons with Boston.
