Eric Tangradi records hat trick to lead Bulldogs over Comets 6-3

UTICA, N.Y. - Eric Tangradi had a hat trick as the Hamilton Bulldogs scored four times in the third period to double up the Utica Comets 6-3 on Sunday in American Hockey League action.

It was the team's first hat trick since Feb. 16, 2013 when current Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Bournival did so against the Houston Aeros.

Morgan Ellis, Drayson Bowman and Nick Sorkin also scored for Hamilton (28-21-8). T.J. Hensick added three assists.

Brendan Gaunce, Cal O'Reilly and Darren Archibald chipped in with goals for the Comets (32-18-6), the affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks.

Mike Condon kicked out 32 shots for the Bulldogs. Joacim Eriksson turned away 25-of-30 shots in 57:32 in the loss.

Neither team scored on two power-play chances.
