Red Wings recall Pulkkinen, reassign Mrazek to AHL

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today recalled right wing Teemu Pulkkinen from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins and assigned goaltender Petr Mrazek to the Griffins.

Pulkkinen, 23, has racked up 57 points (30-27-57) in 44 games with the Griffins this season, including 18 points (10-8-18) in 11 games with the team since being assigned by Detroit on Jan. 20. He scored his AHL-leading 30th goal of the season on Sunday at Chicago – seven more goals than the next-highest in the league – becoming the first Griffin to score 30 goals in back-to-back seasons. He also leads the league in points and is second in game-winning goals (6), power-play goals (10) and shots on goal (178). The Vantaa, Finland, native has also skated in six games with the Red Wings this season, notching his first NHL goal on Jan. 20 versus Minnesota. Originally drafted by Detroit in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Pulkkinen also appeared in 185 professional games with Jokerit of Finland's SM-Liiga from 2009-13 prior to coming to North America, totaling 128 points (49-79-128).
