Bruins recall Malcolm Subban, loan Svedberg

BOSTON, MABoston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, January 30, that goaltender Niklas Svedberg will join the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) on a conditioning loan and that the club has recalled goaltender Malcolm Subban from Providence. Subban will join the Bruins for their 11:30 a.m. practice on Friday at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, MA.

Svedberg has appeared in 12 games with Boston this season, earning a 5-5-0 record with two shutouts, while posting a 2.22 goals against average and .922 save percentage. In total, the 25-year-old has competed in 13 games with Boston, with a 6-5-0 record, .924 save percentage and 2.20 goals against average.

The Swedish netminder finished the 2013-14 season with Providence, compiling a 25-15-4 record with a 2.63 goals against average and .910 save percentage with two shutouts in 45 appearances.
