Devils' Jagr, Ruutu have flu, won't play against Kings

New Jersey Devils forwards Jaromir Jagr and Tuomo Ruutu, who each have the flu, did not practice for the third consecutive day and will not travel or be in the lineup against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, according to the team.

Jagr leads the Devils with 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 43 games. Ruutu has five goals and eight points in 43 games.

The Devils recalled forward Joe Whitney from Albany of the American Hockey League and assigned defenseman Seth Helgeson to the AHL.

The Devils begin a three-game West Coast road trip on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings.
