Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta has the mumps, the Penguins announced Friday.
Maatta, 20, has not played since Dec. 6 because of an upper-body injury. He has one goal and eight assists in 20 games. He also missed time earlier this season after having a cancerous tumor removed from his thyroid gland.
The Penguins also announced goaltender Thomas Greiss and defenseman Robert Bortuzzo tested negative for the mumps.
