Oilers transfer Joensuu to SC Bern of Swiss league

Forward Jesse Joensuu was transferred by the Edmonton Oilers on Friday to SC Bern of the National League A in Switzerland, the Oilers announced.

Joensuu played 62 games over the past two seasons with the Oilers, scoring five goals and nine points.

A second-round pick (No. 60) by the New York Islanders in the 2006 NHL Draft, the 27-year-old has 13 goals and 24 points in 129 games for the Islanders and Oilers.
