Ducks sign goaltender Bryzgalov to one-year contract

The Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday signed goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bryzgalov, who has not played this season, will report to Norfolk of the American Hockey League on a conditioning stint.

The 34-year-old split last season between the Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Wild after his contract was bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers in the summer of 2013.

Bryzgalov was 7-1-3 with a 2.12 goals-against average and .911 save percentage down the stretch for the Wild as injuries plagued their goaltenders, and he appeared in nine Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Bryzgalov was a second-round pick (No. 44) by the Ducks in the 2000 NHL Draft and part of their 2007 Stanley Cup championship team. He has a 220-158-53 record with a 2.56 GAA and .913 save percentage for the Ducks, Phoenix Coyotes, Flyers, Oilers and Wild.
