Blackhawks call up goaltender Darling, demote Raanta

The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled goaltender Scott Darling from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, the Blackhawks announced Saturday.

Chicago sent down goalie Antti Raanta to make room for Darling.

Darling, 25, was 2-1-0 with a 1.98 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in three games with the Blackhawks in late October. He is fifth in the AHL in GAA (1.83) and save percentage (.933) in seven games.

Raanta, 25, is 1-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA and .933 save percentage in three games this season with the Blackhawks.

Chicago also announced Saturday it has recalled forward Joakim Nordstrom from Rockford.

Nordstrom, 22, has eight points (five goals) in 14 games with Rockford. He had three points (one goal) in 16 regular-season games with Chicago last season but was held without a point in seven games in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
