Ducks place forward Heatley on injured reserve

The Anaheim Ducks placed forward Dany Heatley on injured reserve Friday.

The Ducks on Twitter did not specify the injury, but Heatley said he was trying to play through a groin injury and continuing to feel pain and discomfort, according to the Orange County Register.

"I want to come back 100 percent," Heatley said. "It's early in the season, so hopefully I can get this fixed. A little more time can hopefully help it."

Heatley, who missed the start of the season with the injury, is scoreless in four games this season, his first with the Ducks.
