Defenseman Falk signs 1-year contract with Wild

Defenseman Justin Falk has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Minnesota Wild, the team announced Friday. Financial details were not disclosed.

Falk, 25, was drafted by Minnesota in the fourth round (No. 110) of the 2007 NHL Draft and played his first four seasons with the Wild.

Last season with the New York Rangers, he was a healthy scratch much of the time and had two assists and 20 penalty minutes in 21 games. In 129 games with Minnesota and New York, he has one goal, 17 points, a minus-33 rating and 120 penalty minutes.

He did not have a point in four Stanley Cup Playoff games with Minnesota in 2013.
