Forward Mats Zuccarello has agreed to terms with the New York Rangers on a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but it is worth $3.5 million according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

Zuccarello, a restricted free agent, was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing July 25.

The 5-foot-7, 179-pound left wing led the Rangers with 59 points (19 goals) last season. He had 13 points (five goals) in 25 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Zuccarello, who was not drafted, turns 27 on Sept. 1. He played for Norway at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Zuccarello was named the recipient of the 2013-14 Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award, given by the Rangers. The award, which is voted on by fans, is for the player who "goes above and beyond the call of duty."

The Rangers have arbitration hearings scheduled with forwards Chris Kreider on July 23 and Derick Brassard on July 28.
