Barbashev agrees to entry-level contract with Blues

The St. Louis Blues agreed to terms on a three-year entry-level contract with forward Ivan Barbashev, their second-round selection (No. 33) in the 2014 NHL Draft, the team announced Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Barbashev, 18, appeared in 48 games with the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season, finishing second on the team with 68 points, including a team-high 43 assists.

The Moscow native has 43 goals, 130 points and 63 penalty minutes in 116 regular-season games during two seasons with Moncton, and five goals and 13 points in 11 postseason games. He won a bronze medal playing with Russia during the 2014 World Junior Championship.
