Forward Vladimir Sobotka was awarded a one-year contract through arbitration Monday, the St. Louis Blues announced. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports he will receive $2.725 million for the season he returns to the NHL.

Sobotka will play with Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League in 2014-15.

"We are looking forward to having Vladimir in a Blues uniform when he returns to the NHL," general manager Doug Armstrong said. "We wish him the best of luck in the upcoming season."

Sobotka, 27, had career highs of nine goals and 33 points in 61 games last season for the Blues. He won 61.9 percent of his faceoffs to lead the NHL.

A fourth-round pick (No. 106) of the Boston Bruins in the 2005 NHL Draft, Sobotka has 35 goals and 123 points in 381 games for the Bruins and Blues. He has three goals and 12 points in 40 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
