Jody Hull was named by Hockey Canada as coach for the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup, to be held Aug. 11-16 in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Hull, coach of the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League, was slated to be an assistant coach. He replaces Derek Laxdal, who was hired as coach of the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League on July 3.

Martin Raymond, coach of the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, was named an assistant coach, joining a staff that includes Eric Veilleux, coach of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL.

Canada will have training camp in Calgary from Aug. 2-5 to pick the team for the tournament. Canada has won the past six Hlinka tournaments, and 16 of the past 18.
