Connolly signs one-year contract with Lightning

Forward Brett Connolly signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the team announced Thursday. Financial details were not disclosed.

Connolly, 22, was the No. 6 selection by the Lightning in the 2010 NHL Draft. He had career highs in 2011-12 with four goals, 11 assists and 15 points in 68 games. He has played primarily with Tampa Bay's American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse. In his past two AHL seasons, he has 52 goals and 120 points in 137 games. He ranked third in the AHL with 31 goals in 2012-13.

In 84 NHL games, Connolly has six goals, 17 points, 34 penalty minutes and a minus-17 rating.
