Rangers sign forward Tarnasky

The New York Rangers on Thursday signed unrestricted free agent forward Nick Tarnasky. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Tarnasky, 29, had 13 goals, 22 points and 144 penalty minutes last season with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. He last played in the NHL with the Florida Panthers in 2009-10, when he had one goal and three points in 31 games.

A ninth-round pick (No. 287) of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2003 NHL Draft, he has 13 goals, 30 points and 297 penalty minutes in 245 NHL games with the Lightning, Nashville Predators and Panthers.
